Sun ValleyThe 2005 season marks the 70th year of operations for Sun Valley, Idaho. Sun is a national historic landmark with a reverence for history and an eye on the future. Located in south-central Idaho convenient skiing from Boise, Seattle, and Salt Lake City. Founded by Count Felix Schaffgtosch Sun Valley sits atop both Baldy and Dollar Mountain, known by many pros for its challenging ski terrain. Hosts skate skiing, snowshoeing, and cross-country ski trails over 40 km worth. New Ski barn at the base of Bald Mountain this year with plenty of free storage for skiers coming in from the snow for warming. Ten new snow cats this year also make Bald mountain's ego snow even better. Last but not least, Sun Valley bought a new Zaugg pipe cutter this year. Their halfpipe will be transformed into a superpipe with 425 feet of length and 18 foot tall walls. The superpipe will be located on the left side of Lower Warm Springs!
